Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their position as important members in the powerful family could help the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
